409 – FISH PROCESSING FACTORY AT TRINCOMALEE INDUSTRIAL ZONE

An existing warehouse complex, located within the industrial zone has been re-designed to be converted as a fish processing facility. The challenge to the architect was to house carefully plan the entire master layout to accommodate a smooth flow  of factory process. Thus, the architect has strategically zoned the available spaces moving the office facilities towards the entrance area. The overall vehicle circulation path which included heavy vehicles was considered during overall landscape design.

Sea breeze becomes tricky, thus, shall be handled carefully: especially machinery. Therefore, spaces has been treated according to the usage. The overall buildings has been oriented to reduce the heat gain, while further reducing the sea breeze intake to the building.
